The world is full of opinions.

You have them, your friends have them, your children have them, your neighbors, boss, co-workers, the stranger down the street and nearly every other person on the planet have their own opinion about everything from Religion to what is true love. Too often however, we forget that the definition of opinions is as follows: “A view of judgment formed about someone or something not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.” In other words, our opinions and judgments are based on our own personal feelings about things.

The problem is that as we judge others based on our opinions, we forget that in the eyes of the world, we too – have flaws. The Bible tells us, “Let he that is without sin cast the first stone.” And unfortunately, there isn’t one among us who is without fault, or sin, or problems. we all have skeletons in our closet that we try to hide from the world. In fact, the vast majority of people with drug addictions or alcohol problems come from middle-income families, and spend a lifetime trying to hide or cover-up or rationalized their habit. And yet, these are the first people to judge the local homeless pill addict sleeping on the corner of the Main Street.

The question is why do so many of us feel the necessity to voice our opinions (which as you can see from the definition above are not based on facts) to the people around us. Experts believe that folks who judge others, and who believe so wholeheartedly in their own opinions are actually suffering from ego problems that cause a deep sense of and need to be right, or recognized. In other words, those judging you, are simply looking for a way to make themselves feel better about their own inadequacies.

I heard it once said, “that which we find fault with in others is only a mirror of what faults we find within ourselves.” also " Wherever you go there you will find yourself." So next time when you are about to judge another – ask yourself what it is about YOU that makes you feel so strongly about the situation at hand. How did Michael Jackson say it? " If you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make a change."

Remember the common Denominator in every Situation that you are involved in is YOU !!! Step back and first Check yourself ... because your Opinion might just be that which is clouding the process of Solving your situation

This is so very true and well stated, it's simple yet complex. As you said " those judging you, are simply looking for a way to make themselves feel better about their own inadequacies." It is more complex when we turn it around on ourselves and look inside to see what we are not happy within our own beings and think about how/why and when we judge others. That is when we can start to grow and begin the process of solving our own situations. *** Thank you for posting this!

Before placing a judgement and even forming an opinion, we must look at ourselves. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Matthew 7:3 NIV...

Very well stated. Makes a lot of sense and forces us all to "take a look in the mirror". Thank you for sharing that, it was point on and something I can totally agree with.
